By default RetroArch is configured to load the per-user cores that it downloads.
RETROARCH SNES CORE INSTALL
These can be downloaded per-user within RetroArch itself (via the libretro Buildbot) or you can install them system-wide via Community or AUR. To download a core, open Retroarch, and from the leftmost icon (Main Menu), go to “Load Core,” then “Download Core. RetroArch relies on separate libraries, called 'cores', for most of its functionality. Cores are essentially emulators designed to work specifically in Retroarch and are usually based on existing emulators. Once you’ve installed the latest version of Retroarch, you’ll need to choose from one of the two main N64 cores. Note: please be aware of whether your system uses DOS/Windows style paths with backslashes \ or Unix-style paths with.
